1. Choose a solid, level ground for placing the sand filter pump. It is recommended to use a concrete slab if possible.
2. Position the sand filter pump in a way that the ports and control valve are easily accessible for operation, servicing, and winterizing.
3. Ensure that the sand filter pump is vertically fixed on the ground or a pedestal made of wood or concrete to prevent accidental falling. Use two bolts and nuts with a maximum diameter of 8 mm to fasten the sand filter pump to the pedestal.
4. Load pool-grade filter sand or Flowclear Polysphere into the sand filter tank. Use only special pool-grade filter sand that is free of limestone or clay. The recommended sand size is #20 silica sand with a particle size of 0.45-0.85 mm. Approximately 55 kg of sand should suffice. If using Flowclear Polysphere, use 28 g (0.06 lbs) of Polysphere to replace 1 kg (2.20 lbs) of sand.
5. Connect the sand filter pump to the pool using the appropriate hoses and fittings. Follow the instructions provided in the manual for connecting the sand filter pump to the pool.
6. Plug the sand filter pump into a power source. Ensure that the power switch is in the "OFF" (0) position before plugging it in.
7. Adjust the power switch to the "ON" (-) position to start the sand filter pump. The pump will begin working immediately.
8. Set the control valve to the "Filter" function. This function is used to filter pool water and should be the default position for normal operation.
9. Monitor the filter pressure on the pressure gauge. The recommended sand filter pressure is less than 0.56 Bar (8.0 PSI) when the pump is running. If the pressure exceeds this limit, it may indicate a need for backwashing or cleaning the sand bed.
10. Follow the maintenance instructions provided in the manual to keep the sand filter pump in optimal condition.
