According to the user manual, it is recommended to clean the filter of the ARCTIC AIR Pure Chill Evaporative Air Cooler on a weekly basis to keep it in the best working condition.
Additionally, the filter should be replaced every 3-6 months. To clean the filter, you can either place it in the top rack of your dishwasher and run a normal cycle, hand wash it gently with warm water and soap, or sanitize it in the microwave for 30-second increments up to 2 minutes.
If you notice mold on the filter or a musty smell, it is important to clean the filter before further use by fully submerging it in a pot or bowl filled with equal parts clean water and white vinegar for 45-60 minutes, rinsing it with warm water, and letting it air dry.
