To install the Honeywell Pro Series Thermostat, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power at the breaker box or switch.
2. If using the optional cover plate, mount the junction box adapter to the wall or electrical box using the provided screws. Make sure it is level.
3. Attach the UWP (Universal Wall Plate) to the junction box adapter by hanging it on the top hook and snapping the bottom in place.
4. Snap the cover plate onto the junction box adapter.
5. If not using the optional cover plate, position the UWP on the wall, level it, and mark the hole positions.
6. Drill holes at the marked positions and lightly tap the supplied wall anchors into the wall using a hammer.
7. Pull the door open and insert the wires through the wiring hole of the UWP.
8. Place the UWP over the wall anchors and tighten the mounting screws. Do not overtighten.
9. Insert the R and C wires into the designated terminals for primary AC power. The C terminal is optional if batteries are installed.
10. Set the R Slider Tab based on your system's transformer setup.
11. Connect the remaining wires to their respective terminals based on your system type (conventional, heat-only, cool-only, heat pump, etc.).
12. Push any excess wire back into the wall opening.
13. Close the UWP door, ensuring it remains closed without bulging.
14. Align the thermostat with the UWP and push gently until it snaps in place.
15. Turn the power back on at the breaker box or switch.
